Lil Wayne JR

Award winning and platinum selling artist, Lil Wayne, is now the proud father of Dwayne Carter III who was born yesterday in a Cincinnati hospital. This is Wayne's second child. His first child, daughter Reginae Carter, was with his former wife, Antonia "Toya" Johnson, his high school sweetheart, whom he married in 2004 and divorced two years later.

The rapper spoke about the upcoming birth of his child at the BET Hip Hop Awards last weekend after he accepted the award for Lyricist Of The Year.

As of press time, the identity of the boy's mother has not been announced.

Lil Wayne Helps Rebuild

Hip Hop power player Lil Wayne
is helping to restore his hometown by donating $200,000 to rebuild New Orleans’ Harrell Park, the rappers childhood playground.

According to reports, the park was being used as a trailer site for Sewerage and Water Board workers in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Due to heavy equipment and machinery being used, the park's track field and community center were ruined.

Wayne hopes that this will help kids steer clear of trouble in what is reported to be one of New Orlean's more violent neighborhoods.

“You can't really tell them (kids) what to do these days,” Lil’ Wayne stated to Louisiana’s WWLTV.

“When you tell them what to do, that's when they get angry when you tell them be like me because it's hard to be like me. So, the best thing you can tell them is try to do right.”

After multiple appearances of the infamous Styrofoam cup attached to Lil Waynes hand, it's sparked up some debates as to the contents of the cup.

When it was announced that the fatal drink played a key role in the death of Texas legend Pimp C, Wayne felt the need to state his addiction to it.

Following urges by friends and family, particularly his mother, to quit downing the lethal drink, Wayne responded by saying that quitting feels like "death".

"It ain't that easy - feels like death in your stomach when you stop doing that stuff. You gotta learn how to stop, you gotta go through detox. You gotta do all kinds of stuff. Like I said, I'm a selfish person. I feel like everything I do is successful and productive. It's gonna be hard to tell me I'm slipping. It's hard to sit and tell me 'Stop. damn, how can we tell this guy to stop when every thing he do is successful? This guy is making progress. He just went and talked to kids and that stuff was amazing.' Feel me? So what am I doing wrong?" Wayne vented in a recent interview with MTV."

Despite the frequent requests for him to stop the use of syrup, Weezy says it's pushing him to want to do more.

"It's inspiring me, but I'mma tell them now they better stop. Cause they [are trying to] push me off the edge. If I jump, I'm taking the world with me. That's my word."

Wayne stated in the same interview.

Lil Wayne Sued by The Rolling Stones

Abcko Music inc. the publishing company that owns the rights to the Rolling Stones song "Play With Fire" is sueing rapper Lil Wayne for using a sample of the song without permission. Lil Wayne has been accused of copyright infringement and unfair competition. Lil Wayne used the Rolling Stones sample on his Carter 3 album to complete the song he titled "Playing With Fire". The version Lil Wayne produced has been altered in a noticeable way and the hook from the original song has been used in Wayne's version as the chorus. Abcko Music is irate about the Lil Wayne song claiming that his lyrics are "explicit, sexist, and offensive" and that the reason for the lawsuit is to protect the image of The Rolling Stones and the song they originally made. No specific ammount is known at this time, but it is believed to be a multi-million dollar lawsuit. The record sales for Lil Waynes album have exceeded expectations and Lil Wayne has made over 10 million dollars to date from his album. The popular song "Playing With Fire" has been highly credited for some of the albums success and has been a fan favorite since the releasing of the track. Abcko Music understands the popularity of the stolen song and is seeking to be reimbused for the profit The Rolling Stones helped Lil Wayne to see. Further updates in this lawsuit will be available shortly and currently no statement has been released by Lil Wayne or his Lawyer. To listen to the songs, click the links below.

I Am Music

Lil Wayne, the self-proclaimed "best rapper alive" has recently tattooed the phrase I Am Music on his face. Shortly after the tattoo was completed Lil Wayne announced to the world that his forthcoming album will consist of a track-list filled with only songs pertaining to the rock genre rather than his typical hip-hop approach. A date has already been set for release of his new album and Lil Wayne has told the media that the forthcoming rock album will be titled "The Rebirth". Fans of the eccentric rapper have already got a preview of what to expect from Wayne with the first single of Rebirth titled, "Prom Queen". To date Lil Wayne has released 3 different songs from the album, each of them falling into the rock genre and portraying Lil Wayne in a way none of his previous songs have. Being the most successful hip-hop artist in the world just wasn't enough for Lil Wayne. The rapper turned rocker has released a statement to the media saying that his expectations for the album, tho not as high as his previous rap album, are to exceed the standards set by the field of other recording artists in the Rock-n-Roll field. Lil Wayne sold a million copies to his previous album the Carter 3 in the first week alone. If his rock album which has officially been set for release on April 7th sells that many copies during the course of an entire year it will be deemed a success. Has Lil Wayne outdone himself this time or can the hit maker transcend the music bridge and have equal success as a Rock-n-Roll recording artist. Go pick up the Album to hear to Lil Wayne like you have never before and you can be the judge. To get a preview of what to expect you can click the links below and listen to the rock songs Lil Wayne has already released.
